Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of up coming perfume sales that happen at the airports, usually leading up to Christmas? I live very close to East Midlands airport and know there have been these great sales in the past years, although haven't ever been to any I know some people that have grabbed some bargains.
Thanks
SSM

Usually you have to go through secuirity and to the duty free area to get perfume cheap, therefore anything you save needs to be offset by the cost of an airfare if you are planning to fly anyway.
I also find that Superdrug occasionally has half price offers that beat duty free anyway.0 -

In the past at East Mids there's been an actual duty free sale event open to the public, not in the airport departure lounge itself but very close to the airport. The last one I heard about was in Donington hall which is close to the airport. Its this event I'm trying to find info about as in the past I'd heard from friends that the perfume is cheaper than the high street shops!
Thanks though.0 -

I have always found the internet to beat Duty Free prices hands down to be honest, especially now there are so many online perfume shops.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. The advantage of Duty Free shops at sale time is you get the Premium Luxury brands like Chanel heavily discounted which you don't get online plus you know they are authentic.
I have a friend who works at Glasgow airport duty free and the sale prices are the lowest I have seen .
Good luck OP it is worth persevering

Thats interesting, I buy chanel and I have never seen it cheaper at the airport, maybe I need to look out for sales times if it coincides with when I fly .I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. The sale I am talking about and I think the OP means are exclusive sales for Airport staff so you wouldn't necessarily get the offers at the airport duty free shop.

I never realised that they had duty free any more let alone sales at the airport, the prices are extortionate these days!0

There are a few bargains to be had if you know your online prices beforehand...
I am a big fan of Thierry Mugler's Alien and Womanity scents.
For the past year or so there has been up a dual pack of 2 x 90ml Alien for £70. Typical online prices is £35-£40 for 30/40ml bottles. So at £35 for a 90ml bottle its a duty free bargain for me.
On a recent flight in September I also found Womanity was reduced to the cheapest I had seen it - sorry for the life of me I can't remember the price.0 -
Hi all,
So I've tracked down the details of this Christmas perfume airport sale I was on about. Just so you all know I'm not going crazy.
It's at East Midlands airport exhibition hall, it's open to the public and there's up to 50% off perfume, handbags, watches, toys and up to 35% off cosmetics. They've got a facebook page with all the details. It's on from now until Saturday.
I've not found out how big the savings are but if you live in the area it might be worth a stop by? Although a friend has reported this morning it was pretty busy.
Thanks all for your posts.0 -
It opened today didn't it?
