Attempting to remove Default - o2

Hi all, I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right section here, but am looking for some advice.
I have a default on my credit file from o2. I have been having a terrible time recently with depression and other illnesses which led me to temporarily ignore my finances , stupid I know but when sometimes you feel like everything in life is negative, money doesn't seem to matter.
I'm now feeling better and want to repay what I owe to o2. Is there any way they could remove the default? I read online that if you write to customer services, they may do it as it's under £500.
Can anyone offer any advice?:(
Thank you.

Hi,
Unfortunatly it's very unlikley.
They have to record accurately how your account was run, some people have successfully negoatiated default removal as part of a settlement deal, but its EXTREAMLY rare, and totally at the creditors discretion.
Is there any particular reason why you want the default removed ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi, and thank you for your reply.
I just don't want it hanging over me for years to come, I'm 27 now and should be thinking about the future, regarding buying house etc.
I do have credit cards currently, which are always paid on time, also things like Sky and Internet. My Noddle credit score is shocking413,
You mentioned about people successfully negotiating default removal as part of settlement, is it worth trying? If so, who would I write to?
Thank you again for your reply.

It will tell you the debts owner on your credit report.
How long has the default been registered ?
It will be there for 6 years, then disappear as though it was never there.
You can try and negoatiate with them, but don't get your hopes up too much.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
