have got a 20 year royal mail pension and have left the company 7 years ago so the pension is frozen Iam after advice i have read that royal mail are going to raise the age that you can get the pension to 65 from 60 for there existing staff will they be able to raise that age for people that have there pensions frozen is it lawfull to alter frozen pensions if so as iam over 50 i will take mine now on reduced rate as this wors out better than waiting till iam 65 thanks

Acrued pension rights are protected by law from backdated changes in T&Cs. However, rather than just accepting the advice of an ananomous "internet warrior" llike me contact the pension trustees and/or the Union for conformation & to set your mind at rest0
