Hi I've just started a debt management plan with step change. Every single creditor has been fantastic apart from avant. I've emailed them 4/5 times to give them the information and it just gets ignored ! I was wondering if anyone has had a running with these guys?

Hi,
Welcome to MSE.
Avant credit are an American based financial company, with offices in London I believe.
What information are you trying to give them ?
If Stepchange are acting on your behalf, they will deal with them, all you have to do is give Stepchange the account number etc, which I assume you've already done, and leave the rest to them.
They will pass on your pro rata payment, you don't need to contact them again to be honest.
If you want to complain that your not been dealt with fairly, you can do so here :

You will find that whilst some creditors will accept your DMP, and acknowledge this in writing to you, others will not be so courteous.
This lack of acceptance by Avant should not be taken to mean anything untoward, stepchange will still pay them, and they will still accept your money, they just may not officially confirm this to you thats all, some creditors just operate in this way, if they dont like it, you may find they will sell on your debt.
Again this is normal practice and very common, stepchange would just pay the new owner on your behalf, i wouldnt worry too much about it to be honest, as long as you make your monthly payment then things should run smoothly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
