Mortgage and new job??

I've seen what I think could be 'the house' for my little family. And am really tempted to go and have a look. However my husband has literally just given notice in his old job, and will be starting a new one 8/11.
Do we have a hope in hell of being accepted or are we better off sticking to the original plan and waiting until the summer??

There will be no probationary period, the employer would be happy to write a letter to this effect

When we got our mortgage I had just started a new job, I worked with a mortgage broker who said that this wasn't a problem they just wanted to check previous employment record to ensure that I hadn't had a long period of unemployment and was likely to hold down the new job.

Some lenders will allow a new job even if you haven't technically started yet so it's definitely possible.
