Hi All
My partner and I are in the process of buying our first home together. The mortgage advisor wants to see our bank statements (only 1). I have gambling transactions on mine would I be declined for this? I've never taken out a pay day loan, never gone over my overdraft limit and never been bankrupt.
Please could someone help as I am worrying!
Thanks

Varies from lender to lender.
Is this "advisor" representing only one lender, or has full market access?
If the former, ask them for their employer's attitude before investing time on a meeting.

Thanks for the reply!
It's a help to buy scheme and all we have done is put down a £500 reserve for the plot! It's through Halifax I think. It was once in the month and was around £180. Do you think I will be declined for that?

You'll be fine.
If Halifax view the bank statements having a one-off bet shouldn't be a deal breaker.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.
