Good morning,
I don't know if I'm posting in the right place, please tell me if I'm not
I checked my credit score recently and found unharmed bad credit, there is a ccj on my report I wasn't aware of from 2014.
It turns out its from unpaid university fees that I thought student finance had paid (still not sure why they didn't). I know there was an issue but a lady from the uni was sorting it, I filled in some forms etc. And thought it was all sorted as the year that was unpaid was my 2nd year and I've received my graduation certificate. I didn't think you could graduate of you had outstanding fees?!
I've recently had a baby, and my partner and I have been living with the in-laws to save for a house, we were just starting to look which is why I checked my credit report!
What do I do? I wasn't aware it had been taken to court, can I appeal it or get it back I'm court? Do I ring student finance and find out why the fees weren't paid?
I can pay the fees as we have money saved for a house and my new family's future. It's utterly heartbreaking. Sorry to ramble on. I suffer with mental health issues and it feels like I was finally in a good place and now everything feels like it's spiralling down the drain and I don't know what to do! I'm worried about an impending mental breakdown and I know I should but I haven't told my OH yet, I just don't know how to tell him.
Any advice appreciated
