Where can I find legitimate work from home jobs?

Are there websites that advertise legitimate WFH jobs so that I can avoid the MLM type ones and other various scams?

    No, .
Sometimes my advice may not be great, but I'm not perfect and I do try my best. Please take this into account.

There's plenty of legitimate work from home jobs, but it depends what you want. Most PAYE positions are simply a matter of geography and you are doing the same job as your office based counterparts so can't have the distraction of other people around or children to care for whilst you are working. Many of the companies you are a customer of like large retailers, travel companies and utility companies have staff working from home for example.

  • It's probably easier to get a job first then negotiate a couple of days WFH I think!

Saying that, EY for example has WFH personal assistants who WFH 4 days a week, going into their office one day a week. These jobs have been advertised on their website.

    What's 'EY' ?
  • I think it's better to ask about flexibility/working from home once you're already in a job. It's becoming increasingly popular now.

My current employer is keen to state how it supports flexible working. Indeed, due to various offices being closed down and merged into one bigger office, we are encouraged to work from home 2 days a week due to a lack of office space - this seems to be what many companies are doing - cuts down on the commute too. More office jobs could be done from home I think - we have emails, instant messenger, teleconferences and video calls these days!
  • I'm a social media moderator and I work from home. It's a PAYE job, so I get the same benefits as I would if I worked from an office (sick pay, holiday pay etc). The downside is that I'm overworked (some of the shifts are at 3am) and it can be a tad lonely when you're stuck in the house all the time.
