Groupon haircut offers - just don't

I have taken up a groupon cut and finish twice now both with shocking result- I am evidently a slow learner!
I know it will grow back but my advice is do not do this!!!

Do the salons treat Groupon bookings as learning sessions for the trainee?

Need more information than "just don't"...
  • I suspect really great hairdressers don't need to use groupon to get more customers.

I've been with mine for 9 years and he gets all his business by word of mouth - was introduced to him by a friend and friends of mine have since gone to him having seen the good job he did with my hair, and they have brought him their friends too.

I am all for money saving, but with some things you definitely get what you pay for.

Exactly what indiepanda said. You look at the salon and think that is OK, and it is only a cut and finish then you either get a trainee or someone who cannot cultivate clients based on their skill.
In this case it was an experienced hairdresser, he was so taken up with his "Donald Trump is wonderful and will kick the behind of the CIA" rant that he just kept cutting and cutting so I now have layers like steps! By the time I could get a word in to slow him down he had done one side! By the way I just told him to trim the ends!
I might have extensions before Christmas to even it out but will not use a groupon offer!
I am going to stick to restaurant deals from now on

I'm always disappointed that the Groupon offers are always for a cut or colour. I'd never trust a new hairdresser to do that. If they offered a blow dry cheaply that might encourage me to try them out first.
