Solicitor fee

Hi all, i have just pulled out of a sale before exchange and the solicitor wants to charge me their fee because i was close to exchange. is this right?

Your solicitor has been working on your case for weeks or months. Unless you had a no sale no fee contract with them then why wouldn't they want paying for the work they've done?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Have they done the work you instructed them to?
Did they offer a no completion no fee guarantee?
