Glass jar advice...

Options
Im thinking of decorating glass jars (from food stuffs) and selling them at craft fairs etc.
I want to know would there be any implications with this?
ie: If I put a candle in one would that be ok? Or would the heat crack the glass?
TIA

A candleflame will crack the glass if when the candle burns low the flame is to close to the glass. If the it is fairly in the centre and the jar mouth is wide enough, it will be ok. However please note that when the candle is burning at the very end, the jar bottom will heat up considerably and may shatter. I have learned this by personal experience. :o

I personally feel that decorated glass jars would look great as containers for various things, rather than candleholders.

    :)

    Any ideas?!

Do you think this would even happen with a tealight?

  • might be OK if you were just using them yourself, but to sell, I'd look here for candle glasses. - https://www.coloredbottles.co.uk
  • I did some for decorating the tables when we got married. Put tea lights in but a couple blew up so had to go round and extinguish the rest.
