Morning all,
Lovely morning here,we had a bit of rain last evening but the skies are clear again.I lit the log burner late afternoon,it was chilly in the house. We have the heating coming on in the morning and evening now, even putting a cardi on its uncomfortable to sit around.I always thought the thick stone walls would keep this house warm but its a bl**dy cold house.Perhaps its worse because next door is empty and we have a cellar too,or I'm a wimp
We need to get some kindling chopped up ready as I was chopping in the rain yesterday.DGD was coming for tea,she had to have a day off school as she was sent home the day before after being sick & I didnt want her chilled either. She was full of her usual beans so is going back to school today.
Yesterday I said I was going to ring my friends hairdressers to get my hair coloured.I usually do it myself to save money, and my usual one doesnt do it anyway since he went mobile. It went a lot lighter when we had some sun back in August and I do like it but I have a lot of roots showing now and I find its hard to get it right when its like that.Anyway she can't fit me in for a couple of weeks as she's going away.I was sat at the table last night and DH said 'oh you've had your hair done, its a lot lighter isn't it.:D:rotfl:Men! (sorry Speky;))
HM ready meal from the freezer tonight, beef stew.
Right, time to take the beast out, she's glaring at me,hugs to anyone in need xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Goooooooooooooood morning one and all,
Actually looks like a nice (ish) morning here in Glasgow. I can see the Campsies away in the distance which is always a lovely sight.
Yesterday was a planned spend day. I paid the remainder of the trip away next week for my GF (early), got some small presents, ordered flowers, wrapping paper, card, birthday bunting and some groceries. That should've meant I wouldn't need to spend today however I was knackered at the GBBO yesterday so I didn't make lunch. I made Slimming World chips for the GF yesterday as she's currently half following that diet, and they were delish. Relatively easy to make and tasted really good even by my standards and I like the unhealthiest things - recommended.

Today I'll fire through work, head to the gym, pick up shoes for the GF I was buy for her mum (she'll give me the cash tonight) then straight home to prep for tomorrow I think.
Kitkatmum - Hellllo and welcome.
Coxy - Congrats to your DS. A day he won't forget.
Jackie - Enjoy your day, hope the weather is in your favour. Indeed the time has flown by, as it always does.0 -
Morning All
A lovely sunny morning here in Kent, hope it stays because as Jackie mentioned I am meeting her and Carolbee later for a mini meet up:j
Really looking forward to seeing them both.
I have a couple of days leave but have to admit day 1 started off a bit lazy. DH finished his night shift early this morning but I wasn't quite ready for my daily wake up with the larks so had a bit of a lie in:o
I'm off until Tuesday so plan to get the house culled and cleaned ready for winter, will hopefully make life a bit easier as work so busy at the moment I only seem to see the house for dinner and bed during the week.
Hope everyone has a great day

Thanks all - I'm refreshed now!
Teaching this morning was OK, the students had an assessment to do so it was fairly quiet with only an occasional grunt or moan from them. It's college half term next week too.
A new calf has just been born in the field outside, may be the last of the year. On my way out this morning I had to stop for four roe deer which were grazing at the edge of the track, well three on the road and one off it. What a lovely sight to start my day with.
My grass is now finally cut, it had to get done as the rain will soon be back. Not sure I want winter to start but I really want the grass to stop growing!
And the bad news - the SNP have announced a new consultation about Indyref2. It's more than most of us can bear.
Now I need to do a little online banking. I'm moving my ISA from an account paying 0.5% to one paying 1.1% for two years fixed.
The sun is still out though its very cold and windy, not the best of drying weather so I'm not going to bother with my very small load of smalls.
Enjoy your get-together those who are meeting up. I'm sure you'll have a great time.0 -
Afternoon all
Well done master Coxy :j
Just home n settled after a trip to dermatology with mum her chiropodist was worried about a mole on her foot I have to say that the care and speed of the appointment was fantastic
we await the results in three weeks fingers crossed .
Tru I understand we have delivery people who try to deliver to half my street who when they are not in knock at mine and say i know you are always here so can i leave this with you
Right need to catch up on housework dinner is on so just gonna grab a cuppa n get on
Have a good evening x0 -
Well done Master Coxy. :T
I used to get this all the time when Mr LW was working; there was no car in the carport (so how did they know anyone was in?) and when you get to the front door, I have a notice on it with the blue wheelchair symbol and the words "Disabled person lives here - please be patient while I get to the door" and STILL they seemed to think it was OK to disturb me to take in all manner of stuff for just about everyone else in the close.:( Once I got the video phone thingy put it (I can see who's at the door without physically trekking to it) I started saying No. I did feel a bit mean at first, but considering for the most part they are able-bodied folks who could easily re-arrange their deliveries, I decided I was justified.Tru I understand we have delivery people who try to deliver to half my street who when they are not in knock at mine and say i know you are always here so can i leave this with you
Gers how lovely to see roe deer; there was a little muntjac wandering about in the linear park near us a few weeks back.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Still in pain and it is difficult to do anything, so dinner tonight was a freezer HM "Ready meal" of Sausage pasta, I just had to boil the pasta and heat the sauce, mix together and a nice hot dinner in ten minutes

So more painkillers tonight, the thing is I can't wake up in the morning because they knock me out. DH has promised to take me to B&M tomorrow to get some bits, I want to get a few boxes of their Christmas crackers, £3.99 and much better than the ones in Wilko for £10 and some headphones for both of my two for Christmas pressies.
Really hurting to type so BFN xSaveBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
