Trying to make a little extra for Christmas. Online or local weekend work?

Okay so been looking at the income boost forum, some great threads and advice here but now trying to decide the best way forward.
I am 39yrs old already have a full time mon-Friday job (business analyst), but would like to supplement that in the run up to Christmas and wondering the best way?
I have seen leapforce, lionsgate etc sites and similar and think that could be quite good to be able to fit in my time schedule but am worried that either I could not pass the test, or get a contract and if I do if they have the work for me.
Because of my regular job, am only available evening weekends.
Am just wondering if anyone else has supplemented their income with a weekend job and if so what was the best way for them?
Thinking of
Online - support or something similar, leapforce, online working tasks
Retail - Saturday/sunday work.. don't have much experience
but think I could take to it
Delivery driving - Good one for me, I already commute by car each day so am used to busy roads.
Bar work - Done a long time ago, fun but not sure money is that good
Refereeing - am a qualified football referee.. its good money, but after the travel is taken into account, and the limited games you could get not sure its worth it
Thoughts guys? All help appreciated

Also Leapforce, Lionsgate might not have any available roles at the moment.
Depends how much you need/want to earn I suppose. I make around £250 from surveys, tasking etc but it takes time (mostly everyday couple of hours).
How does your workplace view you taking additional jobs? I don't know if any restrictions may apply?ally.0 -
In your shoes, I'd be trying to get into the refereeing business. Fresh air, exercise *and* being paid? (Which of course you declare to the taxman.) Apart from the tax bit, where's the problem?
Actually getting money in time for Chistmas might be a whisker more problematic, but as a tickover sideline, that would be the nearest to ideal.
Were you to go on a raving decluttering binge and then list & sell on ebay you could rack up a pile, but the effort & nervous wear & tear is why folk are turning to other platforms like Facebook selling. Still, it might motivate you to finally Do Something about the stuff in the garage or whatever as well as offer funds for Christmas.0 -
I wish you the best of luck finding something suitable but I know, from personal experience;), that the real life jobs you mention (retail and delivery driving) are exactly the sort of jobs that practically everyone wants. Shops might be hiring temporary Christmas staff though so always worth a try. In general, availability of evening and weekend jobs are like gold dust. I do occasional delivery work but they often need me during weekday daytimes.
Bar/waitering work might be a better proposition for you if you are available evenings (though expect late finishes) especially in the run up to Christmas. Lots of places will probably be hiring temporary staff.
Incidentally, I get offered plenty of local turkey-plucking work as it's a very rural area:eek:. Not something even someone as skint as me would contemplate doing:o
Good Luck:beer:0 -
