Morning All - I had an Actifry for the last 5 years which has now died a death. I am looking to replace it and wonder what model people think is best - Airfryer or Actifry.
Thanks in advance

I have had two actifyers first one a family one lasted around 4 years with a lot of use and several new parts. Then I got a smaller one last barely a year old and stopped working. Decided to get the Philips one which is a lot better. Takes up slightly less room, doesn't squash chips, onion rings unlike actifyer. Its quicker to cook and the food tasted better. Also you can separate food as it came with a small shelve you can cook cakes in it as well0

Thanks my husband has had a look but reckons it is done for and he is quite handy.0

Thanks for the info Colin - good to know. I only ever used the Actifryer for chips or cubed potatoes but know they are capable of a lot more0

The philips one you preheat for about a minute it seems to give off more heat that actifyer and beeps when done. The container is smaller and takes up less room in dishwasher, it has a fryer type container inside made from metal grills. The problem with actifryer is the paddle it can mash up things and its one more thing that can go wrong, thats why our last one went the motor for the paddle had gone0

Is the Philips one quieter? I always found the actifry quite noisy in the kitchen

I thought the actifry made better chips from scratch than the airfryer I've got now, but the airfryer is more versatile because it doesn't crush things. Think they are both equally noisy.0

Its hard to say, but I think marginally quieter probably due to fact there is no paddle so less to go wrong. I got this one from Currys
We love it use it almost daily and just put the basket in dishwasher, we use to get odd time paddle on this actifyer didn't turn no such problem with philips one.

You are lucky that your actifry lasted that long. Had mine for just over a year and it died on me a few weeks back. Loved it but won't be buying another, expensive if that's how long they can last.0 -
Argos were doing the .80 size for £99.99 last week0
