Yes I know, it's Monday, 10 days before payday and I had only £8 to my name for toothpaste, shower gel, bread, milk, eggs, fruit for the week but...
I wanted to say thanks to everyone because what just happened is because of the advice here (and on OS board).
1. Because of meal planning, main meals are sorted and in the freezer.
2. Because of Pigsback I have just got all my bath/shower stuff, toothpaste etc with my £10 boots voucher for doing virtually nothing.
3. And my shower gel was on BOGOF too so saved even more!!
4. And got 11p change from the voucher.
3. It suddenly dawned on me I had nectar points so just went to sainsburys and got bread, milk, veg, fruit and milk etc (£8.59 worth) for £1.09 by using my vouchers.
Which still leaves £7.02 for cereal in Aldi, loo roll and any emergencies!!
Thanks for all the advice guys.

Hi there Newlywed
Its amazing how all those litle bits n pieces soon add up isnt it....
:T :T No doubt you are now gonna sail through to pay day:T :T
It makes you realise to, just how much money it is possible to "waste" when you aren't keeping an eye on the pennies...
Hope you have some more fortune soon:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Yeah I do waste lots of money on supermarket shopping.
Oh and I found a stray £5 on Saturday in a car park with no-one about too
I think I worry mostly in case I can't feed the step-kids (3 days a week - which includes the whole weekend!)

hello
Well it looks like you are having a run of good luck at the moment:T ...
My hubby came back from golf yesterday, and he had put his loose change in a bandit machine and won 200euros.... so he walked in and gave me half:j ... so i have tucked it away.... can't stand to think about spending it :rotfl: .. i seem to get so much more enjoyment out of stashing money and being careful with what i spend.... I blame this website :rotfl:
Having 3 kids to feed for the whole weekend must be a challenge... at least if its just adults... you can think "heck what have we got..ok that will do"...:D ...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Well done on your planning. Much the same for me. 10 days until payday and i have £26 left. Have most of the food in the freezer thanks to meal planning.
I feel that i have not really got to grips with this DFW lifestyle yet. Wonderfull though it is Spending diary.com has highlighted my wastrel ways  . £55 spent on Beer  . £135 miscellaneous
and £19 on work food (Dreaded vending machine). Need to get to grips with that but at least i can see where savings can be made.
Dr Hook. Thanks for the compliment about the Avatar. Not my work i am afraid just an image i 'pinched 'from Google images after typing in 'Yellowmonkey'

2 kids - 3 days a week
Yeah if it was just us it'd be easier. They're pretty used to the not having any left thing though so should be ok.... although just remembered no squash - hopefully teabags will last

Am well impressed with that newlywed! I wish I could be a little bit more like you..
I am going to use you as my inspiration to do the same. I have a tenner left in my purse to last until saturday and I need petrol and some bits and bobs of food to get me through the week.
I reckon I can get by with £8 worth of petrol so only £2 to get my food bits.
Am sat here now with my (very short!) storecupboard/fridge/freezer lists trying to figure out to get through the rest of the week!
Its a challenge isn't it? :j0 -

Yup sure is a challenge. Do you have any vouchers, points or anything you can redeem?
