  • Fussell's (I think that's the spelling lol) make it - it's in a blue and white tin and I think there's a blue butterfly on the label. My local Tesco also sell a middle eastern brand, I can't remember the name but it comes in a green tin in either plain or cardamom flavour.
  • thankyou so much
i try not to use nestle wherever possible, i`ve never had to buy condensed milk before but i want to make some homemade toffee and fudge for xmas prezzies !

  • Actually I don't think you can buy Fussells any more. Both Fussells and Nestle are now sold as Carnation, skimmed and full cream respectively.

This is also another way of making your own condensed milk. You may have to convert if you're not use to cups. But any mug would be fine.

To make the equivilant of a tin of condensed milk:

1 cup powdered milk - this can be full cream or skim milk
    1/3 cup water
    2/3 cup sugar
    3 tablespoons butter

Put all your ingredients into a food processor or blender. Mix slowly at first until everything is combined, then use high speed until everything is smooth.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • thanks aussielass for for the recipe, i`ll give it a go !!
