  • I've received another letter today stating:

"We write to confirm that we have noted the dispute/query that you have raised.

We will make the necessary enquiries and let you know the outcome in due course. In the meantime we will stop all collection activity on this account.

Please let us know if we can assist further"

Yeah I dont think I will be in contact thank you! So I'll sit tight and see what happens next. Thanks again for your help Fatbelly and Sourcrates and I'll let you now what happens.

    Hi there

I would like a bit more advice on this matter if anyone can help? Still ongoing!

Since my last post I have had correspondence on 29-11-16, 14-01-17 and 25-02-17 all basically saying they are still awaiting a response from the original creditor blah blah with the latter stating it is taking longer than anticipated. I haven't made any responses to these letters. How long can this go on for before the matter has to be closed or can the wait go on forever?

    Many thanks in advance!!

    Hi,

The matter won't be closed until they respond to you.

They will Have to go back to the original creditor, that takes time.

    Give it a while longer.

Yeah, that's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string?' question.

They are not completely stupid and if they cannot disprove your assertion (that the debt isn't yours/is statute barred, they will eventually close your file ... or sell it to someone else.
