Hi all,
I've been quoted £450 by my dentist in NW London for a porcelain e-max(?) filling/crown as an alternative to an NHS £219 filling.
The tooth is a lower molar where a side filling has come off and apparently the private option will bind the tooth together better.
Anyone know if this is a reasonable price?
Many thanks!

It's no wonder we can't afford private dentistry! Who has that sort of money to spare.0

If you consider every e max crown that is made from lithium disilicate is made by hand by a long series of stages by a very skilled technician , and that the substructure is normally manufactured in a separate lab that has the equipment to produce it from the lithium ingot before the porcelain is hand layered on , you can start to see where the money comes into it . https://youtu.be/c5cWWxIT5Xo
This is without the time and money taken in the surgery .
Dentistry is very expensive to provide , even the glue used to stick the crown on costs over £90 for a 5 ml pot.0
