Regardless of region you still have to investigate more on a town by town basis. For example, in my home town I would be lucky to get a 2/3 bed terrace for £115,000 and it wouldn't have any parking and most likely have a paved back yard. I moved 15 miles down the road and bought a large 3 bedroom mid terrace with downstairs loo, utility room, big back garden and a driveway for £81,000 and if I was less fussy there's many more for much less!

    Indeed that is so

Yes one can take the view that all 8 billion people of the world should be treated equally by the UK state; and they should all be welcomed, given housing, jobs, health care etc.
I consider this impractical and so believe that we need to control access to the UK.
I think that we should, in practice, treat people who are UK citizens differently from the other 7,940,000,000 people of the world.

    don't you agree?

Yes let's start with blaming foreigners for the high price of 3 bed houses in the South-East. We'll get around to the gays showing off with their 2 x median male incomes and no kids later.

    ..and single mothers.
  • What about them foreign gays? Comin' over 'ere, buyin' our 'ouses, and doing amazing things in them with colour and fabric.

so does that make you a homophobe and hater of single mothers.

Yes, I do believe in immigration controls but not to the extent that I have to blame foreigners in 50% of my posts.

A fool, almost certainty, a hypocrite, often, but a single issue frother - don't think so.

I agree you are a fool and I agree with you that you are hypocrite and I agree I do like to post about logical theories and facts : yes certainly don't mind saying I do believe in free trade and I do believe that in general supply and demand determine price and that I want the UK parliament to determine our laws and I do believe that large trade deficits will inevitably cause devaluation.
Actually that is more than one 'single issue' but I doubt you can count that high.

Meet Clapton, part man, part diverter of threads away from the topic and to a non stop argument of how wonderful brexit is

Maybe you could spare us a few weeks and go onto one of the other sub forums and spread the wisdom of brexit there.

my post questioned whether you believe there is scope for producing more goods and service per working person over the next few years.
Only a 'remain' bigot could possibly misunderstand that simple neutral question.

While the South East remains the magnet it is it will continue to draw people from Britain in to that little corner.
Successive Governments have done little but talk about about "Northern Powerhouses"
A decision (after a lifetime) about an additional runway at Heathrow this coming week will either reconfirmed the South East Power House or give the rest of the UK a chance.
If any politician is REALLY serious about this issue then the Airports in the Midlands and North should be expanded with the help of Government money. Also additional money needs pouring into the infrastructure of the UK between London and the rest of the Country.

I was under the impression though that there isn't actually much of a shortage of airport capacity in the rest of the country, Manchester certainly is running at well below capacity, its only an issue in London and the South East to the best of my knowledge. You could increase capacity all you like but if the demand isn't there it won't generate additional flights or long term economic benefits.
