Hi first post
Currently on a debt plan with CCCS but now our debts are getting lower paid nearly £34k but have £17k left but spead over a quite a few creditors.
Is it acceptable to make my way though the list making offers to individual debts to settle that one debt at a time.
Ie could get overtime and stretch hard to get extra savings (ie not eat lol) which could say clear 75% off one to close it off rather than spreading it thin across all debts

Hi
I'm guessing you have been on your plan for quite a long time as CCCS became Stepchange a few years back.
You are thinking of doing what many others are doing. We think it's acceptable. Not sure how Stepchange will view it. Maybe discuss tactics with others in the same position - see this post from earlier today

I know some posters have done this yes.
Once the debt is settled, they just ask Stepchange to remove it from the DMP.
I don't think many have had any particular issues in doing this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
