Is it too early in the day to call the result of the Daily Prize for Boomer-bashing?

I think so - I'm sure Toxic Toastie will be along soon to take that prize.....
Poor boomers. They wanted a Brexit. And they got a Brexit. And heaven knows theyre miserable now.

Something they only voted to happen to other people.

    Too easy :rotfl:

One risk of brexit is if the UK tries to limit EU migration to zero but the EU still keeps free movement for Brits. We might see a slow and sustained outflow maybe in the region of just 50k per year

This was an option I've been thinking about recently. I actually think this is something that could work well for the EU.

It would be something I'd get behind. If the UK doesn't compromise on FOM, then no trade deal, resort to WTO, but UK citizens and business are still welcome to relocate to Europe to pursue opportunities there.

We like it here - but thanks for the offer.

The 65m people who are presently eligible to relocate anywhere within the EU... but don't.

Another risk of brexit is that the EU will invade us using their death rays.
This will lead to a shortage of toilet cleaners so the few remaining doctors will have to do those jobs, since unemployment is zero.

    ... Ben Brits ...

I can stand the suspense no longer - what does this mean?

Is it "Ten Brits" by any chance?

It won't be boomers leaving the country - they're a bit long in the tooth now for all the faff and upheaval. It'll be the younger ones, thinking the grass is greener elsewhere.

Many boomers are sitting on the dole queue looking at shelf stacking job adverts and wondering why they can't get them because people don't hire older people in the main.

That isn't really how I imagine boomers.

We must mix in different circles.

There are plenty wheeled out on the telly, close to 50 and above, who have said they're not even getting interviews even though they've applied for '00s of jobs.

If you can stay in your job as you get older, you're fine ... but if you lose it you can rarely get anything like what you used to do.... or anything at all.

There was even one in the papers last week where a woman was asked at interview, aged just 59 "shouldn't you just be taking it easy and retiring?" And that was for a temporary job!
