CIS Self employment

Hi guys,

have been given5 months work with a company who say they are paying the 20% Tax thats supposed to be paid on my CIS card; they pay me monthly a lump sum, I have asked for a wage slip or some paperwork to show that they are actually paying the tax however every time I ask for proof they just say the same thing they are preparing it. I have now left the company as of no more work and rang the boss of the company again who says don't worry about it, the accountancy is taking care of it.

My question is, shouldn't the company be giving me a breakdown of a wage slip or at least something to show that the 20% tax is been paid ? , Thanks for any help.
