Don't open that can of worms unless you plan to stay married for a short time and pick the wrong house.
it will move you towards full equitable shares and could complicate things in way that is not always appropriate for a couple with kids where there is a big element of shared resources0 -

Yes it's a gift. But the daughter's inheritance might be reduced by that amount on the death of the parent. The will could ensure that other siblings would get the 100k amongst them for example, thus reducing this daughter's benefit.
That's what I read into the "advance inheritance" anyway.0
