Hi everyone, I hope you can help me.
My wife and I were declared bankrupt in January 2010 and discharged on 19th October 2010. It is now approaching our 6 year post discharge date and we are looking at moving house. We did not have our house reposessed during the bankruptcy and purchased the beneficial interest from the official receiver. We have never missed a mortgage repayment and now have regular bank accounts and credit cards. Our experian credit score is "excellent" and we now manage our finances appropriately. We are likely to have circa £100k deposit and have a joint annual income of £70-80k. We are looking to borrow up to £300k. We would like to seek advice from an independent whole of market mortgage broker who is familiar with applications from ex-bankrupts. Can anyone recommend someone in the Bristol area who is good, or is there somewhere else ("Which" mortgage advisors?) we can go?

There are lenders who will look at it after being discharged for 3 years and at normal rates. So assuming nothing negative between the discharge date and now, im sure you should have enough options.
I cant really comment on the broker side but have you looked on google or asked firends/family? General rule of thumb is to avoid estate agent based brokers.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
