Hope someone can give some advice or share their opinions on this.
Husband and I are hoping to start viewing houses in around 6 months, which gives us time to sort credit rating out etc (both credit reports are fine, theyre not bad in any way, just want to give us as much time to look as attractive as possible to mortgages and more time for deposit saving)
We currently have 3 CC with money/balance transfers at 0% so total debt of around £2500. We did it this way so we could pay these purchases off at small amounts each month rather than all at once. So my question is would these CC debts make a significant impact on our chance of getting a mortgage? I can pay them off now in full, but then it takes a chunk from our deposit savings, which means waiting longer for a house and we're really desperate to finally own our own home ASAP.
Hope I have explained this clearly! Lol

Have a play around on some caluclators, do it with £2,500 on credit cards and without and then somewhere in the middle.
Having £2,500 shoudl not impact too much on getting a mortgage in general, it should just affect how much you can get. But it is all relative, if your income is £20k then its likely going to be a bigger issue than if your income is £40k.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for your reply. I will do that with the calculators and see.
Our income between us is just over £60K with annual increases.0
