any advice about waste disposal units and any problems with them

good question, this is something I have been thinking about having fitted for a while now so Im looking forward to the replies to sway me either way

I have one in an apartment I own.
They are mainly used for soft waste that you can compost(assuming you have that facility. So don't have one in my house.
You need to run quite a lot of water through them as the food is being disposed of, to stop them jamming up drain/smelling; expensive if you have a meter.
I can see the advantages of them in a flat - particularly on the higher floors - but I personally wouldn't bother to get one in a house.
Certainly they are not in the spirit of this thread. They ain't Green and they ain't money saving!!!!0
