Problems with Clubcard RAC vouchers

Has anyone else had problems with buying RAC membership using Clubcard vouchers?
For the last 6 years I have done this, so when the car broke down recently and rang for assistance, I was more than concerned to hear that my insurance had not been renewed. As a result I had to join the RAC on the spot, paying the premium for new member roadside assistance.
An operator at Tesco Clubcard confirmed that I had placed an order for renewal, and also mentioned that there had been problems between the RAC and Clubcard systems.
When I got home I traced back the renewal fulfillment email from Clubcard, and whilst I cannot prove that I did not complete the fulfillment email from Clubcard, given that this was a my 6th renewal, I think that I have got the hang of it by now. Clubcard have shrugged their shoulders and have concluded that I had not completed the fulfillment email, and merely offered to refund the original order.
I would be interested to hear if others have had similar problems.
