Thanks

I don't think it is possible to send faxes over your broadband directly from your PC..... Programs like outlook can be configured for faxing, but they rely on a normal phone line to do it. The one way you may be able to, but I do not know for sure, is to use one of the internet based fax services??
Don't know too much about them, but I know there are some places where you can have faxes forwarded from direct to you email? Sorry I can't be any more specific..... I got around it by having a modem put in, just to fax with, it was only 10 quid from a computer fair, and works a treat.
ZedAll of this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device, sitting on someone's table.0 -
:'(Sorry but it is not possible to send faxes over broadband. This is due to the contention rate on the pipe. Basically you are promised the biggest speed to the exchange, after that you have to share the pipe. If its 1 in 20 you can be sharing with up to 19 other users. To fax you would have to push a separate pipe down alongside all the others, and you cannot.
You can get a free efax number for receiving faxes to your inbox but you have to pay to send. To my mind this only works for people without email sending to you. If you have email and efax to send to email seems a but pointless.
Hope this helps.
