Vendor want to do a deal

Hi
We have just made an offer on a house but the owner wants to make a deal to live in it until after Christmas. Can you do this?and How?
Would we buy the house and they rent it until they are ready to move or do we delay etc?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Probably be after Christmas before you complete anyway, so not much of an issue.0

Your mortgage would likely stipulate vacant possession on completion - so unless you are a cash buyer, it's not something you can agree to while still becoming the owner of the house.
However, as above, it's unlikely to complete before crimbo and you can always negotiate a gap between exchange and completion to accommodate Christmas.0 -
Have they confirmed when they will actually be moving out? After Xmas is somewhat vague.0
