Keeping Brights Bright

Hi all,
Laundry help needed here...
I spend quite a lot on nice underwear and like bright colours, but I'm finding that they go dull and faded really quickly after a few washes. It's not the quality of the clothes that's the problem, so must he how I wash them.
I only do two different loads; one is 'nearly whites' which is mostly white t shirts with a little detail or very light shirts and then an 'everything else' which is all the darks plus colours.
Always use a colour catcher and always wash at 30.
What am I doing wrong ?!
Thanks,
Kevin

Try washing things inside out and if you line dry hang them out inside out to stop the sun fading them.0

Also, what do you use to wash them in? I would suggest colour liquid for the coloureds.0

If they are going in with jeans etc, they will dull, simple
I have whites ( that includes t towels, towels, etc, anything light that takes a 60 wash with no bother) coloureds (40) and jeans/DH work clothes (40 or 60 depending )
Coloured wash get colour powder
That's how I've been doing the washing the past 40 years ( apart from colour powder cos that's pretty modern) and that's what's served me well0 -
Hand wash or quickest machine setting, turn inside out and I use those mesh bags to keep bra hooks from snagging/underwires going astray and wash like with like colour-wise. Cold wash.
I keep a bottle of baby shampoo for delicates. Cold rinse - no conditioner.

Thanks everyone! I'll try splitting into 3 loads from now on.
Slowly57, you gave me a good giggle. I'm a man so I don't have to worry about bra hooks just yet. Haha.0 -
Try sodium percarbonate. Its the ingredient in vanish etc. you can by it in pure form from amazon it is NOT a chlorine bleach. It's what they use in professional laundry to get hotel sheets and table clothes clean...basically lots of oxygen for cleaning. I put it in every wash with normal washing powder it brightens whites and coloureds0

We wash our coloured and white separately, however i don't use a separate detergent. What i do for DH and his white t-shirts is soak them in soda crystals for a little while and then wash them at 40c.
