.. and ring fences a portion for 'small time innovators' who can build unusually 'fast'.
Money for micro homes revolutions perhaps ?

Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

-pre fabs - agains is that 30 or it it 40 times its been promised
-brown field site - probaly 100s of times that beeen promised

Rich landowners breathe a sigh of relief as nothing is done about reducing the massive premium for converting land into land with planning permission.0

I'm suprised this thread hasn't had more discussion.
The government of the day finally doing what many of us have been wanting for a long time.
using £2bn of new public sector borrowing to make public land with outline planning permission available to builders.0 -

why does the government need to spend a single pound to make government owned land available for building? (they could actually MAKE money by selling it )
have not every and every government for the last 25 years announced this and then silenece until the next time they announce it.0 -
More 'affordable' £450k one bed flats in London?
Unless you solve the real problem - house prices are too high - it's all talk.0 -

Clapton has hit the nail right on the head here. Is this the £3bn, or a fraction of the £7bn already promised by Osborne? And what exactly is being done to get these built. At the moment it just smacks of recycled promises.
Hopefully this government will realise that we judge them on their actions not what they say. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Easiest way to mass built houses:
1. Give councils the power and money to compulsory purchase land (quickly) for housing at it's present use value
2. Council designs estate and services and parcels up land
3. Council sells on individual plots and groups of plots
4. Some of the profits are shared with original land owner
5. Rest of money is recycled into next housing estateChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

-how would that help in London ?
-why would a council be good at 'designing' estates
-if the council sells at market value then they would be 'unaffordable'
-in London, the 'original' landowner would be the person you stole -their property from to knock down and redevelop
-there would be no other money
you could take the Aylsbury Estate in Southwark as an example0
