Old Welcome finance charge on house removed, is it now statute barred

We had a secured loan with Welcome finance in 2006. After stopping payments in 2009, the loan was sold on a couple of times and is now with HPH2. We have been disputing the debt for many reasons, but recently asked to see evidence in the original CCA that the charge against the house could be passed to a third party? We then got a letter from HPH2 saying that the charge would be removed and on checking with land registry, the Welcome charge against the house has been removed. My question is, does this mean that the loan has reverted to an unsecured loan, and as such will it now be statute barred as we haven't made a payment for over 6 years?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Try giving one of the debt charities, such as Stepchange, a call as they would be able to advise.
