I wouldn't worry about the £400 it's a small amount. I was given a BRU for 3.5 years but that was for spending £20k that I had no realistic way of paying back. Even then they didn't tell me off but to expect a restriction. I think they let me off quite lightly but I did have mental health issues.0

Thank you i will. I must admit yous have been a god send thanks. My only worry is my hubby he worrys they will take his surplus money and im scared they will say oh you waited till you on maternity but i just received the shortfall letter other day. Quick question should i stop paying all debt now? Im looking to take mortgage to obdensman about shortfall x
As others have said....you really dont need to worry about your hubby, they will not take any money away from him as the debt are all in your name.
I'm no expert but if you really are sure that Bankruptcy is the option for you, I would stop making those payments now. You only adding more pressure on yourself and the bankruptcy itself costs around £650 so you can put the money towards covering those costs. As for complaining about the shortfall? It really is up to you but I wouldnt put yourself under anymore pressure at the moment....as any shortfall is covered by the bankruptcy anyway, whether the amount is wrong or not, doesnt really matter....
Hope you get everything sorted out...0 -

The bankruptcy form will ask for your personal finances, incomings and outgoings, and then asks for other household income, where you would put your husbands income.0

Thank you. But this is defo just for info it has lncome it has no reflection to bankruptcy. Do i have to include it. I wonder if they give me ipa im.on stat mat pay and child benefit0 -
Yes, I guess if your household expenditure is £2000 per month - for example, and you pay £1500 and your husband £500 they would want to know what he earns - i.e. are you both contributing equally to the expenditure or in line with what he earns/you earn?
They can't give you an IPA if your income is solely benefits.
My understanding is - and someone correct me if I am wrong - but they just want to see that your contribution to your household is 'acceptable'.0 -

The BRU was for spending money I realistically had no way of paying back and for delaying bankruptcy. So I was negligent and it ended costing my creditors more than it needed to be. I did deserve it and accepted the BRU. They did take into account my mental health issues they were professional and not judgemental. £400 is definitely nothing to worry about
