Hi everyone,
I need your help. How can I calculate this kind of salary?: "Starting salary: pro-rata to £15,632, rising annually to £16,357". It's a part-time contract, 20 hours per week.
Thanks a lot!

You need to know the full-time hours -and- whether the figure quoted is the "half time pay" or the full salary.
So, is it a job that pays full-time £30-35k or so, or is it a £15-16k job done half time (earning about £8k)?
And, is it a 35 hour week, 37.5, 40, 42, 45?0 -

Thank you for your answer. I can just assume that the full time would be 40 hours (because the part time is 20). The only information I have is that it is a permanent contract, part time, 20 hours with a pro rata starting salary to 15,632 rising annually to 16,357. It's not clear at all...0 -
You need to know what the whole time equivalent is, beyond that, what are you unclear on?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Pro rated salaries are usually given at the full week rate, so as you're working a half week, you'll get half the cash, or £7500-odd. If it's your only job, though, it'll be the untaxed, first money in, lowest tax band.0

Yes, I think it is as you have said. It's half of the full time cash0 -
Stop guessing and ask them.
then you want to know if they expect overtime is it paid and will it accrue holidays.0 -
I think it means the starting salary for you is anything up to £15,635 pro rata and the position is for an increase (to the 16k figure). So approx 7.5k.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
