This will probably be the first time they have heard that our poster had no intention of living in the property.

Can't see how a school can be the issue - sounds suspicious to me and I doubt I am the only one.

Had a client do this last year - It was a week after completion.

To my bemusement, NatWest granted it. I was dumbfounded.

I guess every lender is different, but OP has weak reasons to ask for Consent to let, either way it is not a permanent arrangement and the Op will do well to be aware of this.

  • I'm exploring NatWest's Consent to Let. I can't judge NatWest's willingness to accept my application. I called one of their operators, and they were the most unhelpful customer service representative I came across. They basically said, 'No' and didn't suggest other alternatives routes like BTL, or CTL. The OP query doesn't add any more confidence.

At the lenders discretion is the default position. Circumstances differ widely. Not the lenders role to advise you either.
