september was a disaster for used up items. I have not had a chance to pamper myself and I miss it. I really want to get back into the run of things.

We had a new bathroom fitted in August and following a moveround and redecorate in our bedroom I've deliberately put all the bubble baths, soaps and bath bombs I own on display in the bathroom. (This is sort of in the hope that visiting friends and relies will see I have excess and not go down that route for Christmas gifts)
I made a point of getting all my bottles of perfumes out 'to tidy' while Dh was in the bedroom over the weekend - he was like "oops didn't realise quite how stacked up you'd got with those" so hoping they won't be added to at Christmas either.

Work is beginning today at home on my dry rot problem. Everywhere is neat and tidy for now with all the living room furniture in the kitchen. Sorted through the bathroom yesterday and put away items that Emma left that I won't use.


Another UU: Sample sachet of L'Occitane Divine mask. There is enough in these sachets for two applications and I must say that this is a lovely product. I've used it twice as a night cream and my skin does feel really good the following morning.

In again for another month. I'm not getting through products very quickly these days (only 4 last month with 2 INs) as I don't stockpile products the way I used to.


Looking at my spreadsheet of products (I know, geek alert!) the products I'm not getting through very quickly are things like nail varnishes (rarely wear) and cosmetics like moisturisers and makeup. How do the rest of you use them up? Does there reach a point where products get so old or used so little that you just throw them away?

I use old nail varnishes in my crafting projects, clear nail polish that's going off I use when I make beaded jewellery. Coloured nail polishes I use to make cabachon jewellery an idea I pinched off of Pinterest, I don't like waste so this is good for me. Regarding makeup my nan ignored best before/UU dates she said if it looked and smelt alright then you can use it, she thought it was all a con a way to make money. Her makeup lasted years and years and it was still alright to use. Moisturisers are the same in her opinion, I use moisturiser morning and night so I get through it in a year.
