solve my dark under eye circles and grey complexion

Options
Its been a rough few weeks. And, oh but it shows. My face looks like I died 10 days ago. Grey skin, nicely offset by black circles.

I've just found myself spending - GOSH! How much!??? - on the Boots website so in the next few days I'll be taking delivery of Benefit's ooh la lift and moon beam. (And 500 free advantage points: have not entirely taken leave of my senses)

So - two questions to you lovely people.

Are there any MSE tricks to looking not-dead? I am willing to experiment with the contents of my pantry if so directed...

And when I get my horribly expensive cosmetics - any tips on how I use them?

  • my sister suffers badly from undereye shadows - literally one heavy day and she looks like a badger! :rotfl:

To be honest, we have found that standard foundation and powder is the best disguise. All these hideously expensive creams don't help, just plain cover up!

  • The ooh la lift cream is a similar concept to ysl touche eclat, its a light reflective principle, just dab a small amount under your eyes (or where on your eyes you want to disguise dark circles/pigment) and blend.

the mmon beam is again a light refective lotion,it will give a healthy glow onb its own or lift your complextion used under foundation, the effect will depend on the quality of your foundation however.

Hope that helps, i suffer from dark circles due to a young baby ! and find cold tea-bags de-puff them and I also swear by ysl touche eclat, im sure benefits will be just as good.

Hope that helps, if you like them why not look on e-bay when you need more and save yourself a few quid.

I have very deep set eyes and natural dark brown half-moons under them! I have found that only touch eclat works for me....Yours might be less serious.

The amount of fruit and raw veg I eat makes the biggest difference to my skin - that and booze!
  • isnt vitamin k cream meant to be good for dark circles?
  • My diet's okay and I do drink a lot of water / herb teas so don't think thats it. Definately a stress / sleepless problem.

Vit K cream is new to me. When my bank's recovered from the weekend splurge I'll investigate. Holland & Barrettt, I guess?? Intereesting idea.

but the package is here!!! Am sitting with this side of my face 'done' and that side 'undone'. Can I tell a difference? Um. Need natural light. Maybe? But - lovely packaging, nice textures, feel good about em. Isnt tthat what the cosmetics industry's all about?
  • Try exfoliating twice weekly to get rid of the old, dead skin cells, this should brighten and smooth your face :)

Get a muslin cloth for cleaning your skin and use it morning & night. Put it in warm water and cleanse your face followed by cold water- this should help brighten your skin & I use it under my eyes as I have badge baggy eyes too. I also use rose oil for my face and under eyes- this definately helps your skin tone- also keeps wrinkles at bay & is cheaper than cosmetic brands. Aso spritzing your face with water before putting your oil or moisturser also helps skin tone.
I have found by using a muslin cloth, spritzing & rose oil my skin tone has really improved and under my eyes slightily. However it all doesnt cost very much and is chemial free.
I agree with th op about exfoiliater the NO7 total renewal microderminision exfoliater is brilliant and £10, you should see your skin glow after using this.
