Aloe vera is cooling, it has a cold energy and is believed to have healing properties. Herbalife Aloe Gel I purchased about 20 years ago stimulated healing too much for my skin to handle and caused me problems. It was not purely Aloe vera, it had other herbs in it such as comfrey which is known to stimulate cell division ie healing. My skin just could not handle it as my healing was very slow/poor. Multiple things contributed to this.
Many of the Aloe gels from places like Holland and Barratt were a waste of time because they just sit on the skin causing a film which just rubbed off after it dried. It might be a bit of a waste of time, especially many cheaper types from H&B. I found oil to be much better. Rosehip oil in particular for dryness. It might be worth trying a small amount of that in the smallest quantity you can get say 5 or 10ml. It is quite expensive at about £40-£50 for 500ml for the better organic types.
BTW Eczema is caused by Increased Intestinal Permeability Syndrome aka Leaky Gut.
Biotin in high doses ie 10mg or more per day can be helpful, especially for dry skin and so can vitamin B6 in the active form P-5-P. Omega 3 oils can be helpful for inflammation.
Adjusting your diet to include less pro inflammatory foods might help a little if your eczema is the more inflammatory type. For dryness it might be less helpful. Chances are that you are allergic ie have IgE antibodies to many foods. It might be worth getting a test from your doctor for this. They do skin !!!!! testing with allergens which is the simplest. It is not the most accurate but it will indicate reactions to foods, as it did with me ie everything that I had recently eaten, plus dust & pollen.
For me Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin type) in high doses (20 to 30 mg per day) helped suppress my reactions. I read about this on wikipedia before someone, most likely a drug company supporter/representative, edited it out to suppress the information. It is yet another example of what drug companies will do to sustain their unscrupulous profits.
This helps significantly reduce my joint and muscle pain to only very minor discomfort in my left shoulder when I stretch my arms & shoulders up. Muscle pain, knee & leg pain and discomfort is gone. I am currently using Kirkland 5mg Methylcobalamin from Amazon. I dislike the sweetener in it but the cost does keep the price down.0 -
Anything lanolin based worked for my sister who suffers greatly with bad skin on her hands.0
