Anyone tried the Chanel makeover?

I got my Chance by Chanel sample the other day. Has anyone tried the makeover which is advertised? I've never tried anything like that before, the women on the posh make-up counters are so intimidating! Not sure what to expect.

  • I have always wanted to get one of those makeovers, but have the same problem! My friend was once offered one when she was walking through James Howells and it was great but.. im still psyching myself up to ask for one!

Lol, I love getting my make up done at the beauty counters but I have to agree, some of the SAs look like they could do with a lesson in make up themselves.

Chanel ran a offer like this last year. Their make up ladies were lovely and not pushy with their products, but everyone's experience can differ depending on where and who does your makeover. For some reason Chanel have not offered a free sample to be included with the makeover on their invitation card, unlike last year's. I would still ask though, if you decide to go ahead with it.

It depends, I've had makeovers on designer counters a few times, but most of the time I could have put my makeup on better myself. And yes, the point of giving free makeovers is to try and get you to buy products. You could always say you are coming back the next day or something though!
If it hurts no-one, let it be

i did only she only done half my face lol
i used to hate it when aunts and grans would come up to me at weddings pinch my cheeks and say "your next, your next". well they stoped that crap when i started to do the same to them at funerals:rotfl:
  • I would love this done but the idea of sitting perched on a tiny stool while people stare at you really isnt worth the freebie for me, i would rather stand in my own bathroom and just scare myself!! lol;) ;)

hi guys i came accross your posts and felt i had to help you guys relax, i work on a make up counter most of us are just normal girls who have to dress up to go to work please dont be intimidated we are nice really. about the orange thing its not good for business so approach a girl with make up that you think is nice (we all have differant styles and taste) and remember if you dont like it you can always wash it off its only make up then go try another girl with a differant brand we want you all to come try thats what we are there for.its real boring when its quiet NEARLY ALL COSMETIC HOUSES WILL DO A FREE MAKE UP LESSON IF YOU ASK FOR AN APPOINTMENT NOT JUST CHANEL we are all on commisson so want you to buy however its no problem to ask us to write things down and youl see how it lasts or youl be back on pay day we hear it all the time and most people do come back eventually so we dont mind at all
