I'm a big fan of Nespresso machines. I have a small one ( about £80). Not sure whether they do hot chocolate but nice coffee and lots of compatible pods for less than Nespresso ones.

Can of cocoa.
Milk.
Boil kettle.
Put inn mug. Add dash of whiskey. Night cap. No problems, and far better than foamed drinks!0 -
Love my tassimo. Good selection of cartridges. No idea which hot choc to recommend as I tend to just have lattes. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you're not a coffee snob but want something better than instant with no mess, I'd go for a basic Senseo machine. I bought mine for twenty quid from ebay and it's still going strong eight years later.0

I have a dolce gusto one. Definitely shop around - found mine in sainsburys for £90 but thankfully searched online and JTF had it for less than half the price.
Pods are 3 boxes for £10 in Asda or can even be bought in bulk on Amazon (not sure I drink enough of it to warrant that!)
Does nice hot choc too.Bossymoo

I got a tassimo and the cadbury hot choc is fine, but it is very expensive for the pods. The milk cartridges for the lattes and cappuccinos taste awful imo.0

Apparently when Nestle created the Nespresso machine they didn't copyright the pods, which is why you can buy lots of alternative versions of the pods. They then brought out the Dolce Gusto machine and did copyright the pods, which is why you can't buy anything other than the Nestle brand pods for that machine. It's worth bearing in mind if you want to be able to buy 'cheaper' pods for your machine, or if you don't want to have to buy pods from a particular manufacturer.0

The tassimo is great and we also use ours as the kettle having bought a hot water T disc from Amazon. The only thing is the pods are not cheap.0

I do love my Tassimo but as said the pods are not cheap, well not compared to home brewed coffee, a lot cheaper than buying out every day. I also hate the waste from them, my local council don't recycle them and I really don't like using things that go to landfill so I save up the empties and once a week or fortnight spend time peeling all the foil off so the plastic pods can be recycled.
I buy mine either when they are on offer in a shop or through Amazon subscribe and save.
I really wasn't fussed on the Cadbury hot chocolate nor the Milka one so I gave the remaining pods away, I do really like the Oreo one though, it makes a smaller cup but is so much nicer if you prefer a richer and slightly more bitter chocolate than a sweet sickly milky one. A tip with the hot chocolate is to warm the chocolate pod first, the syrup inside is so thick just the Tassimo especially on a cold day isn't enough to get it all out and you get a weaker flavour. I usually boil the kettle for OHs cup of tea and put the chocolate pod on top to heat the syrup a bit first and then it makes a lovely cup.0 -
Anyone seen the new Nespresso Expert ad? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
