And even then there's the fact organic food is higher in naturally occurring toxins with no evidence it's nutritionally any better for you.
Plus is arguably worse for the environment than conventional farming methods.Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -

I'd be interested to know if it's lovely! x
Itching to try it, but the weekends dinners are all sorted now!
I hope I like it. But as you say with lots of flavouring it could be fine. I will wait and see. Didn't cost much for the experiment though!
My main concern is the texture. But I can't say anything until I try it. And as you suggested, I will put some meaty stock in the hot water while reconstituting it.

I converted my brother and sister in law recently. They visited and forgot that I'm veggie. I made a lasagne using soya mince. They preferred it to meaty mince and they're food snobs!
I'm sure you'll love it. Try a veggie stock first though, just so that you have a great veggie meal to add to your repertoire! x0 -
I'm really interested in what you have said- do you have any links, I constantly feel bad that I can't afford organic food when other mums I know do.
Hi Kimplus8...congrats on your latest arrival, by the way! x
Don't feel bad about not having Organic food, fresh fruit and veg and a loving Ma is just as important! Best wishes x0 -

Will do that. Have veggie stock cubes in. Well they are in a green box and they are brilliant for lots of things, but I am not veggie.
I do eat a lot of veggie meals without thinking about it. Still, for me (sorry), it is nice to mix and match!
Thanks for your help!0 -

Try post 35 as a starting point.
The key thing is there is no evidence organic food production is nutritionally any better than non-organic - some studies so some small benefit, some show conventional methods to be slightly better, and some no difference at all.
Some conventional practices are detrimental to the environment, some organic practices are detrimental.
Some conventional chemicals are dangerous, some organic chemicals are dangerous.
The idea organic farming is chemical free is pure marketing...That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

It's called Clearspring Organic Soya Mince. UK company.
"Made from 100% European soya beans"
I will try it. If the texture is as good as meaty mince, I just might be converted here!
It cost £2 for a pack that says it will serve 10 -12 portions. Even if I am greedy and halve that, that is fantastic value for such a source of protein!
Melanza - just visited their website https://www.clearspring.co.uk/ and they offer a 10% discount if you sign up to their newsletter - plus lots of other stuff listed there you may be interested in2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!
