eBay lull?

Hi all
trying my hardest to boost my income for Christmas and I've been swag bucking away and putting some things on eBay but I'm not getting far.
I've been selling bits on eBay for a while now with some success but I recently put some items on - decent things and things that normally sell - and nothing seems to be shifting. Could it be the time of year? Are people starting to be frugal and thinking about Christmas so less likely to buy?
Any tips for shifting on eBay would be greatly received!
Thank you xx

Depends on what you are selling - if it is what people want to buy someone for xmas this year (remember trends are fickle), then it will sell.
Also depends on what you class as "decent" and "normal sellers" - people order from asia for pennies nowadays and with the throwaway culture items rarely keep value and become outdated very easily.0 -
To be honest its mostly children's clothes (mostly new things that were bought for my girls and never worn) and normally they sell pretty well but its been a bit frustrating recently. All these things I'm doing to boost my income resulting in pennies at a time can be a bit disheartening can't it?
I shall slog on!0 -
Have you tried shpock? Seem to be advertising a lot recently and I had a quick look as a buyer and there were quite a few people selling things near me. As far as I can tell there aren't any fees (please check though) so maybe listing a few things on there might be worth trying?0

FB selling pages are very popular
I sell the odd thing on our local page , usually sold and picked up the same day as posting
No fees, no hassle0 -
Facebook groups in your local area is the way to go, have you tried Sphock? It's free to use and sell (no nagging seller fees to deal with)!!0

I've found eBay's really dropped off over the last year or more. I've tried Facebook selling groups but they're so poorly organised that most people don't want to trawl through to bother looking at all the stuff. On my local ones, nothing much sells- particularly not clothing. I do notice when people list children's clothes though- they tend to list them as bundles and not ask much for them.
Perhaps more people are just buying cheap tat new instead?Minimalist

As Christmas approaches, I'll include giftwrap, ribbon, labels etc to help sell the item as an easy present.
Doesn't always work, but may be worth a try?0 -

Wouldn't bother with that - wrapping is quite personal.
there are pages on FB for children's clothes specifically so they may be an option.0 -
I'm a member of a local Facebook group but like you've said they can be quite disorganised and I've also noticed children's clothes don't do so well. I've relisted a few things today but if no luck in a week or so they will be off to the charity shop I think.
Maybe I'll try closer to Christmas with some unwanted toys. Thanks everyone0 -
Have you tried cash4clothes? They don't pay much (I think it's £4.50 per kilogram of clothes or something like that) but it's better than nothing if you need the money.0
