When Electrical Goods Conspire!

Options
Moan Alert:eek:

So payday comes and coincides with this http://www.vaxsale.co.uk/login/
and I thought it would be a brill time to replace my held-together-with-gaffer cleaner. Researched madly and found what I wanted for around £40+pp (reduced from £99.99). Fits in my budget and ticks the box for compact/lightweight/long flex - so YAY! If you want to take advantage of this it was in Martin's Money Tips Newsltter http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/#vax

Then my basketd worktop halogen oven died - beeping and smelling of burnt plastic. We administered the electrical last rites of swapping out the fuse (just in case) to no avail.

We use this thing daily, so I'm now left thinking of hob/microwave meals as I have no intention of using my gas oven (overheating my head lol!!). So pasta, rice, mash, pasta, rice and a replacement from eBay should be here on Tues (I'm too tight to pay for expediated shipping ;p;)

On one hand I'm all - poor me - and on the other, glad we have some slack in the budget to sort it all out. I need to keep to my GC for October more than ever. Do you think white goods/appliances conspire to kaput at the same time?

  • I think some of mine have done just exactly that. Fridge freezer first of all, but that was easily sorted. The chest fridge/freezer went a few days later, haven't yet looked into if I can get it repaired or not yet, as I just use it for drinks, so not quite so important. Thirdly, the oven is playing up, temp not going to what it should and the fan isn't working, and have been advised by one person to replace it. Waiting for a 2nd opinion. Luckily I have a halogen oven, just praying that doesn't give up the ghost too.
