Where can I get thick bedsheets?

I'm really struggling to find these. I want thick, stiff cotton flat sheets. Not sateen or anything silky smooth etc. It doesn't have to be cotton actually, any material is fine.
After doing a lot of reading up on google, I ended up ordering 400 thread count Egyptian cotton percale. Apparently, percale would give the stiff, crisp feel I'm looking for. They arrived today and they're dreadful! They're see-through, and shiny which I hate. I'm going to return them.
I looked at the Sheridan 1000tc and a couple of others but they all emphasise that the high thread count makes it more silky, like a sateen finish.
I've now found something called 'institutional cotton flat sheets' on beddingsdirect. (My iPad won't let me copy the link, one of many issues since ios 10!) Would these sheets be better? They're certainly cheaper.
Any recommendations about types/materials/brands etc would be much appreciated.

The most money-saving way I've found is to look for hotel quality sheets on EBay :money:0

isn't the stiff, crisp feel from the way hotel/hospital sheets are laundered?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I'm surprised your percale sheets are thin and shiny ripplyuk - as a percale weave is supposed to be the most durable sheeting you can get.
You'll need laundry starch for crispness see:

More about percale here:

I have percale pillowslips and fitted bottom sheets as they are lovely and soft and cool.2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

I think they're starched but the sheets themselves also seem thicker, and more rough and harsh than bedlinen commonly available. I've tried using starch in the past, but it's still not the same.
I don't want lovely and soft. The opposite really.0 -

Perhaps you want linen rather than cotton ripplyuk? Also, the starchsupplies starch is apparently far superior to the spray stuff or anything on the high street. I also found this - look at finishing link:

dunelm have hotel bedding don't know if that's what you are after though. Also maybe look at matalan..I have a duvet cover from there 100% cotton doesn't say Egyptian just 100% cotton and if I wash it without fabric conditioner it's dries quite stiff ,feels crisp but fresh.0

I have the high count Sheridan sheets (from Just Linen) and I wouldn't describe them as 'silky' at all - they feel to me just the way you describe your ideal sheet.
However, like tastes & smells, it's very individual.
I don't use fabric conditioner anyway.0
