New scam Twitter site called Virgingiveaways

Just sharing this in case it helps anyone. Yesterday a new Twitter site popped up called @virgingiveaways with the Virgin logo. It started following Twitter users and when I looked at the list many were campers and many were people with names I couldn't read because they were written in another language.
This site has one post telling you that they are giving away 100 iPhone 7 , they ask for your details to submit to the draw and the tell you to download an app and run it.
I tweeted @Virgin official site today to ask if this was anything at all to do with Virgin and they have replied saying that it is not and they are now going to look into it.
After the recent scam with Sleep Retreat hotels, I just wanted to share this info to help avoid possible further disappointment for people out there.

Update, they are now called FIFA13 giveaways but still @virgingiveaways, old site has disappeared now
  • I noticed that there are so many scams on FB with comps eg win this car/holiday etc etc and when looking the page is usually set up recently and no details so very odd looking. Most probably those pages never actually give anything away at all.

The one you talk about is odd since using virgin to pull people in. I don't have twitter so not seen them but have FB and so many appear to be 'dodgy'

The hoax-slayer page on Facebook keeps people up to date on the latest win xxx scams on Facebook.

The BMW and Motorhome scams have disappeared for the moment.
