Rang Barclaycard to see if I could get the 2 year promotional discount added to my Barclaycard Cashback Duo, alas, I was told I had to apply for a new card
It would never get used at home as I use my Amex almost exclusively!
Still, very tempted to apply as it's great to see a card with no interest on cash withdrawals is pretty useful while abroad!0 -
Unless I'm mistaken, the 6.9% APR low-rate card has gone from their website, too. I'm very glad I was approved for (and received) that one a couple of weeks ago.0

No f/x charges but only for a limited period?

They previously offered a travel card in the form of a co-branded Thomas Cook card with 0% loading but withdrew it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It's good.
The interest free foreign cash if the balance is paid in full is excellent.
What a shame there's a hidden fee of c0.5% because they use Visa rather than MasterCard to calculate the exchange rate.0 -
A rather churlish comment given it's a different card scheme.PeacefulWaters wrote: »What a shame there's a hidden fee of c0.5% because they use Visa rather than MasterCard to calculate the exchange rate. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Standard Barclaycards have always been a good backup travel card for ATM withdrawals. They load 2.75% but don't charge any extra fees. They also treat it like a purchase for interest purposes - ie you get up to 56 days interest free. Not as good as the likes of Clarity, but better than most.
As for the Visa/Mastercard loading, I personally haven't found the differential has been as much as 0.5% (on average) but it's a while since I checked.0 -
Your implication a 0.5% 'hidden fee' which simply isn't the case - it is simply the Visa rate.PeacefulWaters wrote: »Why's it a churlish comment?
I'm comparing the differences and the (usually) inferior Visa exchange rate is a material price difference. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
