Someone up there likes me

Hi Guys,

As you know its now nearly two weeks since we we're declared bankrupt and became totally debt free .......Its bloody lovely, I have never felt or slept as well for years. We already banked with the nationwide before bankruptcy so if they froze my account I would have only had the co-op, barclays, and the post office to approach. WELL, would you believe I had a letter yesterday from the nationwide stating " We have been informed that the insolvency service has no objection to you continuing to use your account and can confirm that you now able to make withdrawals" :T. I was absolutely gobsmacked and obviously delighted as we now don't have all the hassle of changing banks, re-setting up standing orders and DD's etc. I can't believe how easy all this has been for us especially when I read the horror stories on here from other posters. I keep thinking something is going to jump out of the cupboard and kick me right in the nuts for feeling good. We still haven't heard from the OR as yet so maybe that's where it will all go pear shaped, but so far so good i'll keep you informed,

Thanks guys and regards to you all,

Taib0

    Hi Debt Doctor,

I will keep you posted my friend, without you & Fermi's expert advice with our SOA & I&E I think the OR would have had us for breakfast. I have had such a crap 18 months that when we do get a bit of luck it makes me feel uneasy, how sad is that. Anyway, total new lease of life for us now and all that debt and horrible phone calls are in the past. I only wish I could wave a magic wand and do the same for everyone else on here,

    Regards, Taib0

    That's great news.:j:beer:

Glad you are feeling so much better and that things look so much brighter now. That's really pleasing to hear. :D

Very good to know that Nationwide have been good to you with respect to the BR. With their recent change in attitude towards opening new accounts when you are already BR you begin to wonder how they will treat an established account now. At least for you, this hasn't been a problem so it might help to reassure others on this.

  • That's great news, hopefully I'll have a similar letter when I get home from France... When I spoke to the OR he said I could keep my Nationwide account, there's only enough money in there for DD's at the mo so at least nothing should bounce. :)
