Agency rolling contract holiday pay

Hello all,

Have just landed a job at hsbc via an agency.

I will be on a rolling contract but the poject im working on is permanent.

I have been quoted a paye hourly rate of £9.23.

The agency have said that a percentage of this rate is then deducted in order to give me holiday pay as and when I need it.

So the amount I get is obviously less, I think it works out about £8.13 an hour after the holiday pay deduction.

Is this a normal thing to do with agency work, I have been told that I receive all the money saved up if I leave the role and haven't spent all my holiday allowance up.

It just seems abit odd to me, do I legally have the option to have the money paid to me and just not getbpaid for my holidays?

I am yet to sign anything.

Thanks for any help.

Daniel
