So I sent out several CCA letters regarding my debts which I have been paying through Payplan but have paid £24k although the original debt was £19k.
I have had this response from Cabot and I am not sure what they mean by it. Does it mean they will return the debt to the Co-op to chase?
"Unfortunately, it appear that The Co-operative Bank is unlikely to be able to provide the requested documents. Therefore, I can confirm that Cabot Financial (Europe) Limited have taken the decision to no longer pursue collection of this account.
Please note that this decision is not to be confused or interpreted as a write-off of the outstanding balance on your account as the debt legally remains"
Do I need to contact the Co-op regarding it or do I just sit and wait to be chased?
Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!

That one's gone. Well done.
They have not officially written it off but have accepted that it will be unenforceable through the courts (presumably as a pre-2007 account with no supporting paperwork)
They have accepted that the company they bought the debt off (the Co-Op) will not have the relevant paperwork.0 -
Yes it was from 2003! Ok that is good to know! Thank you!!!!0
