There is an internet site called TV Links.
Have a look, be patient because its not the most intuitive site and has limited search facilities but masses of modern tv and movies.
IT has the great advantage of fast streaming, its free too!
Note you may need to download the DivX programme off the site but it is free of viruses and spyware and well worth the effort particularly if you have a good monitor as the quality is close to digital tv.
Anyone else have any good tv or movie sites that are genuinely free?
Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

How is this off topic please? How is it spamming?
No offence taken, perhaps it was not obvious that posters were being directed to a site that would save them money.
Bowling for Columbine can be viewed free on the internet at TV Links. Hence saving the cost of the DVD.
If there are existing free sites where programmes, documentaries and films can be found then this is surely a money saving strategy.

Take your point but would that then not be a freebie?A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
A young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent,
the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.0 -

It's also illegal. These are not legal free downloads - they're pirate copies and you're almost certainly breaking UK law if you download or view them.
Now, while that's up to each person to decide if they want to do it, it's totally unfair to present it as a 'money saving' alternative to buying a legit copy.
I mean, check out their 'legal information' page:TV Links is not responsible for any content linked to or referred to from these pages.
TV Links does not host any content on our Servers
All video links point to content hosted on third party webites. Users who upload to these websites agree not to upload illegal content when creating their user accounts. TV Links does not accept responsibility for content hosted on third party websites.
Also, I'm not sure what the policy is on the forums for posts that promote illegal activities - in general, it's considered a bit moronic to discuss these sort of things out in public.0
